‘And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before’ Job 42:10
Beloved, happy Sunday. Today is Rogation Sunday in the Anglican Communion. The word Rogation means ‘to ask’. It is a time to ask God to bless the works of our hands. In the season that we are in, I believe it is good to ask as a church (irrespective of the one you attend) for restoration of the nations of the world. When God restores, the state of the person restored will definitely be a lot better than it was before. The story of Job in the bible and so many others, some of whom I will share to strengthen people’s faith confirmed this.
To restore means to repair and renew something or someone. If there is anything we need to restore quickly, it is the nations of the world. The pandemic took a bad toll on nations and this has affected the economies of the world badly. I therefore encourage you to join hands with the saints on earth to ask God for the power of restoration to rest on the world. James 5:16b says that, ‘The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much’.
Evidence of the Power of Restoration
Job was a very wealthy man that lost all his wealth and children suddenly but God restored him and he got more than he lost- Job 42:10-12
Joseph was betrayed and sold into slavery by his own brothers. He was lied against and thrown into prison by his boss but god restored him and he became a Prime Minister in a foreign land- Genesis 41:40-41
Rachel the beloved and preferred wife of Jacob (Israel) was barren and mocked by her own co-wife/sister Leah but God restored her and gave her two sons, one of her sons (Joseph), was worshiped and served by the sons of her sister/co-wife served- Genesis 30:22-24
Joshua was the High Priest yet had filthy garments on (in the spiritual). This deprived him from ascending the position God prepared for him until God restored him. His restoration promoted him to Judge the people of Israel and he had the privilege of getting the revelation about the coming Messiah- Zechariah 3:4
Blind Bartimaeus was had a negative appendage due to his condition until God restored his sight. His restoration made him a faithful disciple of the kingdom of God- Mark 10:51-52
Mary Magdalene; Lazarus; The woman with the issue of blood; Paul & Silas; Peter; Jabez; Jephthah; and so many were restored.
The power of Restoration is potent and available still. I have personal testimonies of how God restored me. This season and month have been declared our month of restoration. I encourage you to ask for the power of restoration over the nations of the world; the lives affected by the pandemic and individuals who are going through so much in this season.
If the power of restoration from God and our Saviour worked for others, it will work for you. Only believe. God promised us in Isaiah 61:7 that, ‘Instead of your shame, you shall have double honour and instead of confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore, in their land, they shall possess double and everlasting joy shall be theirs’.
The power works better for all who have given their lives to Jesus Christ. If you have not given your life to Jesus Christ, please bow your head and say this prayer, ‘Lord Jesus, I come in total humility and ask that You forgive me all my sins. I acknowledge that You died to save me from the power of sin and death. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. I pray that You release the Holy Spirit of promise to guide me into all truth to enable me live a life pleasing to You every day of my life. All these I pray in Jesus Christ name, amen’.
Congratulations for your name has been transferred to the book of life. God bless you. If you need further help with your walk with God, do contact us with this email JesusShopperteam@gmail.com
