“Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less”- John Maxwell
There are certain values that all successful leaders have. Anyone that is interested in making positive impact in the world must learn these skills. The John Maxwell Ichoose Foundation designed a programme to teach young people 16 of these leadership values. The first of which is Choices.
A summary of what it means is shown below:
- Choice is a Gift: It gives you freedom, control, direction and better life
- Life begins with no choices: You have no choice in your birth, sex, family, personality style e.t.c.
- Life doesn’t start equally for everyone but you can catch up by making good choices
- No choice is a choice. You give others the power to choose for you and you don’t get much from their choice for you
- The choices you make, make you. Good choices=good outcomes; bad choices=bad outcomes
- To change your life, change your choices. Start with yourself and others will change
- Choice is a gift- value it
